RUN TO WIN!!!!! ( SEVEN THINGS YOU MUST EXERCISE TO BE A WINNER IN LIFE)

  • 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours

I want to believe we have seen an athletes running before or been to the stadium and see the athletes race.

Everyone runs, one wins, so therefore run to win.

All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnished and fades.

You have to ask yourself “am I unto the Gold which faded away or Gold eternal which faded not”?.

There are certain things which needs to be put in place in order to win the race ahead of you and if failed to be worked on; one’s life and career ambitions becomes useless and miserable in life, community and the nation at large. In other word such a one has been rendered useless to his/her generation and self .

SEVEN THINGS YOU MUST EXERCISE TO BE A WINNER IN LIFE

1. OBSERVE STRICT DISCIPLINE
No matter your intelligence and knowledge of analysis data or concept in life ,if you lack discipline you are at the edge of doom. Everyone who competes in the game goes into Strict training. I  beat my body and make it slave so that after I have been a mentor or preached to others I myself will not be disqualified.

1 Corinthians 9:25  Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

2. DON’T LOOK BACK

We should not let anything take our eyes off our goal.

Knowing Christ with the single-mindedness of an athlete in training we must lay aside everything harmful and forsake anything that may distract us from being effective Christians (what is holding you back)

Phillipians 3:13- 14.      13. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

3. GET CONSTANT ENCOURAGEMENT

Since we’re all surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, lest you run the race been set ahead of you with perseverance and fixed your eyes unto Jesus the author and the finisher if our FAITH.

Hebrews 12:1-4,  1THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

2Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

3Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.

4You have not yet struggled and fought agonizingly against sin, nor have you yet resisted and withstood to the point of pouring out your [own] blood.

4.  REMEMBERING THE CLOUD OF WITNESSES

We should always have this mindset we are not alone in running the race. Sometimes other problems and circumstances of life may want to keep you from running your race even when the cloud is cheering you up to run and attain the Gold medal.

Hebrews 12:1a THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth]

 5. THROWING OFF THE SIN THAT ENTANGLE YOU

Those things which seems so satisfying at the moment can take our eyes off the price, instead keep yourself attached to the temporal things.

Life work best when we follow God’s word and obey his commands in the Bible. He didn’t give you those commands to trap you, it was given to free you from running the race with endurance.

When we do so our true goal comes into view.

Hebrews 12:1b let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us.

6. YOU MUST BE AT ALERT SPIRITUALLY

Your spiritual awakening and readiness will save you from forces that want to halt and ruin you while running in motion the race set ahead of you.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4,  3For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.

7. LOOKING UNTO JESUS

While we may glance at the crowd of witnesses around us and we may throw off the things that tangled us off, our ultimate encouragement is in the price that await those of us who lived by faith through holiness and righteousness.
